Lecture 2 – J.-P. Julien

The Canadian National Crystallographic Committee will be hosting the second Dr. Penelope W. Codding Lecture in support of early career crystallographers on Thursday, the 20th of April, at 10 am Pacific time/1 pm Eastern time. 

Dr. Jean-Philippe Julien is a Senior Scientist at Toronto’s SickKids Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Immunology at the University of Toronto, Canada. He was awarded the inaugural W. H. and W. L. Bragg Prize for outstanding early-career crystallographers in 2020 (jointly with James Fraser, University of California San Francisco, USA). Among his early career activities, Dr. Julien determined the first crystal structure of an intact HIV envelope trimer by X-ray crystallography as well as by cryo-EM.
