The 14th Canadian Chemical Crystallography Workshop will be taking place at the University of British Columbia (UBC) preceding CSC2023. This workshop is targeted towards chemistry graduate students and postdocs who would benefit from an improved understanding of the basic theory and practice of structure determination using single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The goal of the workshop is to develop skills in the critical assessment of single-crystal X-ray structures.
The 16th Canadian Powder Diffraction Workshop will be held May 23-26, 2023 at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. We have invited some of the finest experts and instructors from across North America to teach powder/polycrystalline X-ray diffraction (PXRD) at this workshop.
Hosted by the CMCF beamlines, this virtual program will be spread over two weeks. Participants will get hands-on experience with mentors for all phases of the experimental process, from data collection to processing to structure solution. We will be joined by special guest Nigel Moriarty and his colleagues from the PHENIX group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Participants will attend lectures and actively engage in macromolecular crystallography (Mx) data collection at CMCF beamlines.
Welcome to the 15th Canadian Powder diffraction workshop. This year, the workshop will be a hybrid event where lectures are offered virtually and software tutorials are offered both virtually and in-person. The workshop sessions will cover the basic theory of powder diffraction, experimental setups, sample preparation and data analysis. Various software programs will be introduced during the presentations and used in the afternoon’s practical sessions.
